Linux Literacy Course: Confirmed!

The first session of the “Linux and Free Software Literacy” course will be held on Tuesday, October 18, from 7pm-9pm.

There is still time to register for the course if you are interested. Just fill out the registration survey.

The location will be 90 Queen Street South, near the intersection of Charles and Queen Streets. Note that this is neither the main Working Centre building nor the Queen Street Commons; rather it is on the other side of Charles next to Far Out Flicks. Here is a picture of the building:

We plan to start right around 7pm, so please be prompt if you can.

Here is a link to a map of the location. (The building is indicated by the red marker.)

For the first class, bring the following:

  • Something to take notes with
  • A USB key if you have one for Linux/data storage
  • Your computer, if it is portable or convenient to do so
  • Your curiosity and questions

Transportation and Parking

The building is one block away from the Kitchener Transit Terminal, so getting to the building by bus is easy.

There are shockingly few official bike racks near the building. People often chain their bikes across the street from Full Circle Foods.

There is lots of paid car parking in the parking garage. There is a small amount of free parking after 6pm beside the parking garage and across Charles Street.
